Overview
Harbor-UCLA Medical Center is a trauma center in Los Angeles County and a major 570-bed public teaching hospital with more than 450 residents and fellows in over 35 accredited programs on site as well as trainees from various disciplines. The hospital provides healthcare services to over 700,000 residents in the greater South Bay area of Los Angeles County. The medical center was founded in 1946. Over the years the hospital and medical programs of the facility have grown and improved significantly. The center is owned by the Los Angeles County and operated by the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services.
Harbor-UCLA also provides 24-hour emergency services for acute medical, surgical, pediatric, obstetrics/gynecology, and psychiatric problems.
